My marketing experience ranges from website design and search engine optimization to targeted email marketing and social media.
I started as an intern with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events, and was soon promoted to full time Marketing Coordinator. My work is almost solely online. Occasionally I'll work with printed marketing material, but that's the exception.
I completed a diploma in Marketing Communications at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). While a student, I took an active role in Enactus BCIT.
Enactus BCIT is a student-run extracurricular organization that works on multiple entrepreneurial projects that benefit the community we live in. I was Project Manager for the Legion. This committee plans fundraising events including a Call of Duty obstacle course, benefitting Canadian veterans.
I organize the Legion Lion’s Lair workshop series, where military personnel with an entrepreneurial spirit were mentored by Enactus BCIT students on topics including marketing and financial literacy. Workshops consisted of keynote industry speakers, student presentations, and tutorial sessions that guided the participants in building a professional business plan.
Also a part of Enactus, I mentored a group of Burnaby Mountain high school students on how to build a marketing case study; students then presented against ten other high schools, and won “Best Strategy” and “Best Marketing Research”.
I worked for Tony and Christina Hepburn, at RE/MAX Select Properties, as their Executive Assistant. In this role, I took on several hats, including a marketing one.
I created and designed a drip email marketing campaigns, sending emails to more than 2,500 realtors weekly, advertising new listings and open houses. I also sent clients a monthly email update that received positive feedback.
I also created a Facebook page called “365 Things to Do in Vancouver”, and posted a new event to do around town every day, with a link to a blog on the realtors’ website.
I increased company website visits significantly through the successful use of Craigslist, Twitter and Facebook. Google Analytics showed a marked increase of website views from these sources.Request a Proposal Back to Top
My year round passion is web design. I love it. So much so, in fact, that it could consume me if not for these other passions of mine.
I'm an avid skier during the winter. When there's snow on the mountains and I'm not working on a client's website, you will likely find me on the slopes. To me, there's nothing like fresh untracked powder through the trees, or off a cliff... It's magical! Just beware - I'm a strong believer that there's "no friends on a powder day"!
During the summer months, I spend much of my time playing tennis. I've been playing since I was quite young, and enjoy playing with a partner as much as I enjoy playing solo against a wall. There's something almost hypnotic about the game.
I also quite enjoy the mountains during the summer. Whether I'm going for a hike with a friend, or rounding up a group of us for a camping trip, my summer plans always include time in the mountains.Request a Proposal Back to Top
